Certified Eastern Iowa Commerical HERS Testing
Preferred Energy Consultants has certified HERS testers that inspect and test a business or commercial property in order to evaluate each of the minimum rated features established by RESNET. They also prepare a comprehensive commercial HERS rating according to Chapters One and Three of the RESNET Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating. Keeping Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Quad Cities, Dubuque, and Waterloo, IA energy efficient!
What is a HERS rating?
PEC is a certified HERS rater supplying property managers and commercial proprietors with Home Energy Rating System (HERS) services for new construction and existing construction. To comply with state guidelines, HERS ratings and verifications must be performed by a neutral, third-party energy rating company that understands Title 24 standards. HERS verifications are mandatory in order to close out permits for most types of energy upgrades.
To verify that a facility’s energy upgrades meet IA energy requirements, Preferred Energy Consultants HERS raters conduct field inspections and diagnostic testing of your building’s energy performance and mechanical equipment. Working directly with commercial property managers and facility owners or alongside their contractors, we provide commercial HERS testing for office buildings, small businesses, large-scale facilities, and other commercial environments.
Results of these tests, along with inputs derived from the plan review, are used to generate the HERS Index score for the business
Commercial HERS Testing Certifications
Once applicable inspections are complete, Preferred Energy Consultants processes your facility’s final documents, submits certifications, and assures compliance with Iowa energy codes to complete the permitting closeout.
PEC is an independent, third-party HERS rater that simplifies the process for you and your contractors. We are a cost-efficient, one-stop source for all of your energy services!
